32 Things to Learn About Your Gut!

February 2015 – Issue 39

The Continuing Pursuit for Migraine Elimination and Pain Reduction

The Migraine Headache - Gut Link

Holly's version! I say it's my version because I have not read much on the link between our neurological medical condition and the digestion in the science world. At least nothing that forms a formal conclusion in any one direction.

In the nutrition arena there are many claims to this link. I have written quite extensively on it, as I feel there is a huge connection. Science is behind the fact that the stomach digestion slows down to deal with the migraine.

Before and after attacks, some of us experience cravings for salty or sweet foods, or a complete loss of appetite. I throw up most solids but can tolerate soups and broths. Sorry, too much information!

Many years ago I was experimenting with diet, as you do when you are a migraine suffer, and I came across Donna Gates book called the Body Ecology Diet. It changed the way I looked at digestion. Read about that here Migraine Headaches Nutrition .

Now I know that in some cases, fermented food can bring on migraines - so you just have to experiment. But all of that aside, there is a wealth of information available here for us to use.

I have just come across her free Healthy Gut Summit that you might just want to check out. Discover how your digestive health is intimately linked to your immune, endocrine, circulatory and central nervous systems at The Healthy Gut Summit, free and online from February 9-16, 2015.

This event features one-on-one interviews with 32 of the world's most beloved and respected thought leaders and physicians. As they each share fascinating new insights and research on how gut health impacts our most basic physiological processes - including how we think and behave. A story unfolds showing that a healthy gut is the foundation for physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Unfortunately, 70 million people suffering from digestive diseases in the United States alone!

Fortunately, 32 world-renowned experts have gathered in one place, online and free!

The Healthy Gut Summit begins on Monday, February 9th, register for free now: Healthy Gut Summit Registration

Donna Gates created The Healthy Gut Summit out of a growing need to provide answers to the millions of people who are spending a lot of time and money on their health, yet are even more confused than ever before.

There is so much conflicting information around - in books, online, in the media - how can anyone be certain about anything anymore?

When you are on a quest to create health, happiness or a long enjoyable life you have to start somewhere. If you have not looked into this before, I think the Healthy Gut Summit is a great place to start!

It’s not too late to learn whether your gut is partially to blame for some of your migraine attacks.

It's too easy to listen in and get started by saving your seat at next week’s Healthy Gut Summit!

Essential Migraine Tools

Building resilience all starts with having a plan. A solid pain management plan. These are like my four pillars of strength.

Build Your Own Migraine Tool Kit - Here is our article with eleven steps on exactly how to do it yourself! It has all the forms you need to print out and step by step instructions to navigate your way through effective chronic pain management.

I highly recommend reading Cynthia Perkin's Mindfulness Over Migraines e-book that explains the science behind mindfulness and why it helps migraines. And she explains the method step by step that she uses to eliminate her migraines in 15 minutes. Yes, you read that correctly ... eliminate in 15 minutes. It will be the best $6.99 you ever spend!

Timing is everything when aborting a migraine attack.

Wild Divine Biofeedback is an essential part of keeping my migraines at bay. This biofeedback training system will make the perfect Christmas gift for any migraine sufferer. Learning to control breath and body temperature will assist in reducing migraines. Meditation is proven to reduce migraine attacks. This will teach you all of that. I love mine.

Dr. Amy Myers Elimination Diet eCourse is now an essential part of our tool kit. I know it is vital to find our migraine food triggers, and avoid them where ever possible. Dr. Myers is an autoimmune expert. Just what we need! This e-course will guide you every step of the way.

Share Your Migraine Stories

Remember that your contribution will help others too! We are not in this alone, even though it feels like it most of the time. Our stories and input can help each other.

For example, I heard about Naramig from a Shiatsu patient of mine, not my doctor or any of the specialists I had seen! Two years after triptans came on the market. Two years of needless suffering.

This is a safe place to share your challenges and tell your story to people who truly understand what you are going through. Share your art to inspire us all in our time of need.

Find solutions with new treatment ideas specific to migraine disease, and get some professional health advice from others that walk this path. Just click on the links underlined above if you would like more details.
